Caring for a family member at home?

If your answer is "Yes" to the question above. You may be eligible to receive a tax-free stipend as a family or kinship caregiver.  Your family member must be eligible for  Medicaid.  The family member who is providing the care for your loved one must be 18 years or older and live in the same home. The family caregiver must pass a background/fingerprints check. What is Structured Family Caregiving (SFC)? 

We are the two of the founders of BarbaraKares. It is our goal as your local home care agency to help you navigate through the Structure Family Caregiving process by providing with a smooth and efficient onboarding experience. SFC allows family members to care for their own family members. So of the requirement that the  Family Caregiver must meet are the following: 

     1. He/she must live with the member/client and is related,

     2. He/she can't be employed (can't have another job)

     3. Must have a clean background

     4. Must be coachable and willing to work with our Health Coach.

The overall goal is to keep individuals out of the nursing home and allow for their family/relative caregivers to provide the care that they know their family members need.

 

The person in need of care must qualify pertaining to his or her health:

  • He/she must need a least 5hrs of care 7 days week

  • Currently on the CCSP or SOURCE Program; OR

  • ​The individual is eligible for Georgia Medicaid 

  • Our Care Advisors can assist with the application process. The member must meet eligibility for the CCSP or SOURCE Program under the Elderly Disabled Waiver Program. Call 478.234.0070 or 478.390.7749 today!!
